| Step 1:
Holdings in the NAITS system represent locations and/or facilities where animals are residing either temporarily or permanently. There are several ways in the NAITS to navigate to a holding of your choice. From the main screen select the HOLDINGS button to enter the holding search.
| Step 2:
In the stall search function, you can search for a stall using various parameters:
After specifying the information, click the Search button. After finding the desired stall, click on its name to enter it.
| Step 3:
The general data for the holding will be presented on the screen. To navigate back to the main screen you can go through the main menu, the main screen button or through the home button. |
| Step 1:
You can navigate to the holding screen through the RESPONSIBLE PERSON. For how to find a keeper, please consult the Responsible persons manual.
| Step 2:
After identifying the desired person, it is possible to search for the stall where this person is responsible as the stall owner, caretaker or associated person. At the first stage, we search for the person according to his data:
After finding the relevant person, we click on him and the person window opens, in which by clicking on the stalls button, a list of stalls related to this person will appear on the left side and we must click on the desired one. This will move us to the desired stall space
| Step 3:
On the main holding screen, you can see all the holding relevant data. Note: If a holding has not been assigned with a keeper, associated person, or herder, it is not possible to enter the holding through the responsible person menu. |
| Step 1:
You can navigate to the holding screen through an INDIVIDUALY REGISTERED ANIMAL. For how to find a keeper please consult the Individually registered animals manual.
| Step 2:
From the INDIVIDUAL ANIMAL screen, you can navigate to the holding using the holding shortcut. You can also switch between the holding, animal and keeper using the tabs in the upper left corner.
| Step 3:
From the main holding screen, you can move between holdings in the same village using the FORWARD and BACK arrows (‹›). The holdings are stacked on basis of the ascending holding numbers and a list of the holdings in the village can be obtained from the REPORTS menu. Please consult the Reports manual for obtaining Village level PREPRINTED FORMS. You can also navigate to holdings using the RECENT option which shows the list of recently visited items. |
Chapter 2 – Creating a new holding
| Step 1:
To create a new holding navigate to the HOLDINGS MENU.
| Step 2:
Once in the holding search menu, press the ADD button to open the holding data screen.
| Step 3:
The holding ID number is generated automatically with the first 9 numbers representing a codified address of the Region, Municipality, Community and Village and the last 4 representing the holding order number in the Village. There is a variety of holding types to be selected. Holdings are generally divided into permanent and temporary which are subject to different rules, with some being very specific to the intended purpose. A NAME of the holding can be added as needed. If the NAME is not added the system will create a name from the NAME and SURNAME of the KEEPER. For holdings which are subject to separate registration process/es, the issued other ID number, can be recorded in the APPROVAL NUMBER field.
| Step 4:
Select the location of the holding, down to the village level and add the physical/Mailing address if it exists. Add the GPS coordinates to see the holding in the GIS module. The Capacities identifications indicate the size of the holding. Add any relevant notes and SAVE. |
Chapter 3 – Main holdings screen
| Step 1:
On the main Holdings screen there are four panels with information. The information bar allows you to:
Switch the language. | |
| Step 2:
If you navigate to a holding without nominated Keeper, the full Holding actions panel will not be available until a keeper is registered.
| Step 3:
The Holding identification panel provides the basic information about the holding. The Holding actions panel allows you to navigate between the interfaces of other modules in the holding. For each interface a separate manual has been prepared.
| Step 4:
The holdings Information panel summary provides information about the basic information related to the holding, the contents of the holding (# of animals and flocks per type) and pending movements. The HOLDING STATUS widget provides a summary of the health status covering the health of the animals, movement blocks or active quarantines.
| Step 5: The MAP button allows you to visit the GIS module of the system (see the
Geographical Object Mapping manual). The PRINT button allows you to print three types of reports relevant to holding operations.
| Step 6:
The HOLDING CERTIFICATE is an extract from the holding depicting a summary of the holding identification and the holding statuses.
| Step 7:
The STATUS UPDATE FORM is designed for registering of various actions and for updating of the holding contents during holding visits by official NFA representatives.
| Step 8:
The ANIMAL FARM REGISTER is designed as a record book for registering of various actions and for updating of the holding contents by the Keeper or Associated Persons. Regularly printed and maintained the records constitute a standard FARM/HOLDING BOOK. |
