TREATMENTS OF ANIMALS, FLOCK AND HERD
Step 1:
Find the holding in which the animal is located. Note: On how to find or create holding please consult the Holding manual. | |
Step 2:
In the holding screen you can see an overview of the present animals. Select the animals’ section to get an overview of all active and inactive individual animals. | |
Step 3:
In the active animals section select the animals to be treated, then hover the mouse pointer over the ACTIONS button, then over the ACTIVITY button and select the campaign which should be applied to the animal. Note: Note that the campaign selection provides full description of the scope of the campaign. | |
Step 4: Select the animal treatment date
Please add the date on which the treatment has been applied, as provided in the Status Update Form. If you click Execute without adding a date, today as date will be added by default. Note: Please confirm that the treatment campaign is registered for species of animal being treated. | |
Step 5: Confirmation of the treatment
Note: If you have selected a campaign with wrong target animal, the system will return an Error message. |
CHAPTER 2 – Adding campaign treatment to animal through the animal screen

Step 2:
Select the Animal Health Book and add a new treatment. | |
Step 3: Select the animal treatment date
Please add the date on which the treatment has been applied, as provided in the Status Update Form Click on the campaign box and a selection list will appear, where you can select the desired campaign. Note 1: The Treatment Type (type of user), and Administered by (User name) fields are added automatically Note 2: The number of items treated is used for treatment of flocks/herds, for more information the next chapter. | |
Step 4: Add a new campaign treatment to the animal and save
Click on the desired campaign to add the treatment to the animal and once the box closes press SAVE. Note: Please confirm that the treatment campaign is registered for species of animal being treated. | |

CHAPTER 3 – Adding standalone treatment to animal through the animal screen

Step 2: Select the Animal Health Book and add a new treatment | |
Step 3: Select the animal treatment date
Please add the date on which the treatment has been applied, as provided in the Status Update Form. | |
Step 4: Add the activity type of the intervention Choose from the list what type of event you are holding

Step 5:
If the type of intervention / action is vaccination, add the drug data. By clicking in the window name of the drug, a window will appear where all the registered drugs are listed and we have to select the one we are using.

Step 6:
If we are taking a sample, click on the Sample taken window and select the appropriate sample | |
Step 7:
It is possible to enter additional information about the vaccine in the windows located in the mentioned section | |
Step 8:
Add additional details if needed and press SAVE. | |

In the active flock/herd section, select the flock/herd to be treated, then hover the mouse pointer over the ACTIONS button, then over the ACTIVITY button and select the campaign which should be applied to the animal. Step 4: Add a new treatment to the flock/herd
Please add the date on which the treatment has been applied, as provided in the Status Update Form. If you click Execute without adding a date, today as date will be added by default. Note: Please confirm that the treatment campaign is registered for species of animal that are being treated. | |
Step 5: Confirmation of the number of animals treated
Once the date is selected, the system will prompt you to add the number of animals treated. The number of animals treated is used when not the whole flock/heard is treated and the number of animals treated is smaller than the total number of animals. Note: If the whole flock/heard has been treated you can click the Execute button without adding a number. | |

CHAPTER 5 – Adding campaign treatment to flock/herd through the flock/herd screen

Step 2:
Select the Animal Health Book and ADD a new treatment. | |
Step 3: Select the Flock/Herd treatment date
Please add the date on which the treatment has been applied, as provided in the Status Update Form. | |
Step 4:
Add the number of animals form the flock/herd treated. In case the whole heard is treated, you can leave the box empty. Then select the CAMPAIGN NAME box. | |
Step 5:
Add a new campaign treatment to the Flock/Herd and SAVE. Note: Please confirm that the treatment campaign is registered for species of animal that are being treated. | |

CHAPTER 6 – Adding standalone treatment to flock/herd through the flock/herd screen

Step 2:
Select the Animal Health Book and add a new treatment. | |
Step 3:
Add the number of animals form the flock/herd treated. In case the whole heard is treated, you can leave the box empty. | |
Step 4:
In case the action is a vaccination, add the vaccine code if applicable. Note: If the registered treatment is a vaccine for mandatorily controlled disease, please add the corresponding reference from the list. If the vaccine is not for mandatory control, leave the box empty and add information on the disease targeted in Administrative information box. | |
Step 5:
Add the immunization period and the Prohibition period (preventive actions only/vaccinations). Note 1: Immunization period is the time needed for the animal to develop its immunity, during which the flock/heard is banned from movement to high-risk areas. Note 2: Prohibition period is the time needed for the administered medicinal products to be eliminated from the animals, during which the flock/heard is banned from slaughtering. | |
Step 6:
For sampling actions select sampling and add the type of sample taken. Note: Use only for samples which are not being submitted by NFA to SLA. For the samples to receive results directly from the SLA, please enter the sample through the NAITS Laboratory module, or through a campaign. | |

Add additional details on the administered treatment and press SAVE. | |

CHAPTER 7 – Reviewing history of treatments, editing or deleting treatments
Step 1: Navigate to the Animal or Flock/Herd Screen

Step 2:
Select the Animal Health Book to review the treatments administered. All treatments and their details are listed. Select the treatment to be edited/deleted by clicking on it. | |
Step 3:
Edit the data of the treatment administered and SAVE. The system will register the date of editing and the user which edited the treatment. | |
Step 4: Delete the treatment administered
The system will register the date of deletion and the user which deleted the treatment. |
