Step 1: Finding the slaughterhouse/holding

Type the number of the holding in the quick search to directly access the holding or, open the HOLDINGS menu.

Select the animals section if you would like to work on individual animals.

There are two ways to admit an animal into the slaughterhouse:

  1. Admittance through accepting of the pending movements (see the last step in this section);
  2. Direct admittance of animals and flocks with the movement documents created post factum.

Open the MOVEMENTS ⇒ INCOMING ANIMALS SECTION and mark the animals to be moved.

Select the transporter as explained above.

Add the Date of Movement, i.e. when the animals have arrived at the municipality.

Open the MOVEMENTS ⇒ INCOMING MOVEMENT DOCUMENTS.

Select the movement documents and press the ACTIONS ⇒ CHANGE STATUS ⇒ RELEASED button to accept the animals.



Chapter 1.2 – Admitting flocks/herds

Step 2: Admitting of flocks/herds

There are two ways to admit a flock/herd into the slaughterhouse:

  1. Admittance through accepting of the pending movements, as described for individual animals above.

Note: On how to admit flocks/herds with movement documents please consult the MOVEMENTS manual

2. Direct admittance of flock/herd without movement documents.

For direct admittance please first select the flock herd to be admitted, by pressing the FLOCK/HERD ID button.

Step 3: Select the flock herd

Search for the flock/herd by entering the animal ID number or searching through the listed standard parameters.

Note: On how to search for animals please consult the FLOCK/HERD manual.

Once you have found the target flock/herd, please note the number of animal’s categories and decide how many of each category needs to be moved to the slaughterhouse.

Step 4: List the types of animals in the flock being admitted

Please select the number of MALES, FEMALES and ADULT FEMALES admitted. The number should not exceed the number of these categories in the flock.

Step 5: Add the transporter of the flock

Click on the transporter name button and open the person selection section.

Search for the person by entering the person ID number or searching through the listed standard parameters.

Step 7: Date Selection

Select the date when the flock/herd has been admitted and press the DIRECT TRANSFER BUTTON.

Following to the confirmation the animal will appear in the left listing of the active animals with status VALID.



CHAPTER 2 – Adding Ante Mortem to animals/flocks herds


Chapter 2.1 - Adding a quick “all clear” Ante mortem report

Step 1: Adding “quick” Ante-mortem

Navigate to the Animal or Flock/herd Screen and select one or more animal or flock/herd with status VALID

Open the ACTIONS menu, and OTHER menu and select the Ante-mortem option.

Following to the confirmation the animal/flock status will change to ANTE-MORTEM.

The change of status will allow for the animal/flock/herd to be slaughtered.

Step 2: Reviewing the Ante-mortem

Click on the animals with ANTE-MORTEM status and then select the ANTE-MORTEM section.

The grid will display the Ante-mortem created, with no findings in terms of diseases and symptoms and with Permission to slaughter.

TIP: You can add only one ante-mortem when slaughtering has been permitted.

Step 3: Deleting an Ante-mortem

In case an ante-mortem has been mistakenly added, you can delete the ante-mortem by accessing it (clinking on it in the previous screen) and selecting the DELETE button.

The animal will return to Valid status.



Chapter 2.2 - Adding a full Ante-mortem report

Click on the Ante-mortem section to enter the records.

Click on the ADD button to add a new Ante-mortem record.

Step 3: Fill in the data

Add the relevant data:

  1. Disease finding is auto filled in cases when the animal has received POSITIVE status from a laboratory (not relevant for flocks);
  2. Add diseases suspicion if you suspect any concrete disease that the animal/flock might have;
  3. Add the decision if the animal can be slaughtered or not;
  4. List all the symptoms which you have noted (multiple symptoms can be added).

Step 4: Adding multiple Ante-mortem records

If an animal has been deemed suspicious for slaughter and the Slaughterhouse inspector has decide to keep the animal and postpone the slaughtering, you can add a relevant Ante-mortem record to register the event.

The animal with Disease suspicion status cannot be slaughtered.

At a later stage if the disease concerns were resolved, you can add a second ante-mortem with a permissible to kill finding to proceed with the slaughtering.



CHAPTER 3 – Slaughtering animals and Adding Post-mortem


Chapter 3.1 - Slaughtering of animal

Step 1: Slaughtering and Destroying of Animals

Select a one or more animal or flock/herd from the left screen with ANTE-MORTEM status;

Select the ACTIONS button, then the RETIRE and SLAUGHTERED functionality

The animal/flock will move to the right side (INACTIVE) of the screen with changed status SLAUGHTERED

The date of slaughtering is automatically recorded.

For animals which have been deemed as unfit for consumption, select the RETIRE ⇒ DESTROYED option.

Step 2:

If you have decided to Destroy an animal the system will prompt you to provide the date and the reason for destruction.

If you have destroyed an animal by mistake, enter the animal record by clicking on it in the INACTIVE screen section.

Press the UNDO ANIMAL RETIREMENT button to undo the action.

The animal will return to valid status and any added ante-mortem records will be deleted.

Open the ACTIONS menu, and OTHER menu and select the Post-mortem option.

Following to the confirmation the animal/flock status will change to POSTMORTEM.

The change of status will allow for the meat label to be printed, where the slaughtering and manufacturing dates will be added automatically.

  2. Manufacture date is added manually, including the exact hour when the animal is ready for storage or transport;
  3. Confirm if any samples have been processed;
  4. Additional Information - Provide more information about the carcass;
  5. The disease finding field is auto filled in cases when the animal has received POSITIVE status from a laboratory (not relevant for flocks);
  6. Add diseases suspicion if you suspect any concrete disease following to the examination of the internal organs;
  7. Add the decision for how the internal organs can be used;
  8. List all symptoms which you have noted (multiple symptoms can be added) on the internal organs;
  9. Add diseases suspicion if you suspect any concrete disease after examination of the meat;
  10. Add the decision for how the meat can be used;
  11. List all the symptoms which you have noted (multiple symptoms can be added) on the meat.

CHAPTER 4 – Printouts (Meat label and Daily slaughterhouse report)



Chapter 4.1 – Printing meat labels

Step 1: Printing of single or multiple meat labels (sheet) for a single animal

Select and click on the animal/flock with status POST-MORTEM for which you would like to print the meat label.

In the print menu select the Post-mortem label for the animal or flock/herd.

Note: For animals you can print 1 label with dimensions 8x9 cm, or six labels collated on A4 format.

Note: Information on the Forma#2 number and the weight of the meat can be added by hand if needed.

Step 4: Printing of meat label (sticker) for single or multiple animals

This option is used for printing of stickers or labels with preset paper sizes.

Select one or multiple animals for which you would like to print the label.

Press the PRINT MULTIPLE 1 IN 1 LABELS.

The meat label for each selected animal will be printed on a separate sheet.

Chapter 4.2 – Printing daily slaughterhouse reports

The daily report is printed in order to document the activities of the NAITS system/Slaughterhouse veterinarian in the form of a printed document.

To print the Daily report, select the PRINT button from any general Holding screen.
